What a fantastic time I had on Friday night at the Star Trekk. I can't believe that I walked 7 miles in two hours and still had fun....who would have believed it!
The atmosphere down at the Eco centre was brilliant, everything ran smoothly as it was so well organised and lots of ladies had really made an effort dressing up and getting into the spirit of the event.
The noise level was really high as about 1000 women walked along the sea front chatting and laughing away. There were plenty of refreshments along the way and everyone was free to walk at their own pace so there was absolutely no pressure.
My friends and I walked at a brisk pace and because I have been doing a lot of practice and building up my fitness levels I was never out of breath and can honestly say I wasn't tired at the finish and thankfully had no aches and pains on Saturday.
Everyone I have talked to since the event thoroughly enjoyed the walk and will definitely sign up next year and have all vowed to maintain their fitness levels as well.
The walk isn't a race but I think everyone who took part from the young children to the older ladies is a winner and hopefully lots of money will have been raised so Queenscourt Hospice ends up a winner too.
